The format allows Strasser to have the best of both worlds. In the "before" chapters, he presents a vision of life during the Cold War that feels ripped from personal memory as Scott grows aware of racial prejudice, the prevailing "us vs. them" mentality toward Russia, and his own nascent sexuality ("You want to die without ever seeing a breast?" Scott's snide friend Ronnie asks). Meanwhile, the "after" chapters are claustrophobic, heartbreaking, and at times ugly as civility breaks down among the few adult and children survivors. Amazing, sequel please
I loved this book so much and I hope you can make more of this genre
Great book, but it could be longer
I didn’t read the online version, but I did read the book. All in one day, in science class. And I loved it. I thought the combination of before and after was a great touch of storytelling. But they don’t go anywhere with it. Or what the Author could have done was made a second book. It has all the potential.
But if your not a fan of the fallout games like I am, this will be a fun read. And I hope you think so too.
Fallout
This book Fallout, is a great book. It has a some of historical facts. Such as, The Russians where attacking and way more. At the same time the author wants you to be enjoying the book with humor and some fiction. The only flaw about this book i'd say, is that some parts you wish they weren't in there, or it makes no sense for that to be on this page or chapter. Other than that this book was amazingly written, makes you want to read on and makes you infer what's going to happen here and there. So a big thumbs up to this book☺️👍🏼
