First the calm. Then the storm…
Escaping DC during the dog days of summer is one of the smartest moves Washington metro police lieutenant Samantha Holland ever made. Beach walks aren’t quite as romantic with the Secret Service in tow, but Sam and her husband, Vice President Nick Cappuano, cherish the chance to recharge and reconnect—especially with a scandal swirling around the administration.
No sooner are they back home than a fatal drive-by shooting sets the city on edge. The teenage victim is barely older than Sam and Nick’s son, Scotty. As more deaths follow, Sam and her team play beat the clock to stop the ruthless killers. With Nick facing his greatest challenge—one that could drastically change all their lives and even end Sam’s career—will the mounting pressure deepen or damage their bond?
The fast-paced 12th installment in Force's Fatal Series is a testament to her talent for blending romance with politics and suspense with sex. Series protagonists U.S. Vice President Nick Cappuano and Metropolitan Police Department homicide lieutenant Samantha Holland come back to D.C. from a relaxing vacation and are quickly thrown back into the mix of crime and politics. After six seemingly senseless drive-by shootings are reported in two days, Sam is run ragged chasing down leads. Meanwhile, the press is hounding both her and Nick for comments about what is going on in the troubled White House. Even as their vacation quickly becomes a distant memory, the beleaguered pair find frequent refuge in their steamy sex life. Force continues to hold the reader's interest with great characterizations and well developed plot lines. Correction: An earlier version of this review misstated the number of books in the Fatal Series.
Pre-Ordered my book and I still can not download it. I’m so mad cause I love these books. Like everyone said, you fall in love with all these characters and want to find out who done it. I haven’t read it but I’m sure it’ll be a 5️⃣⭐️.
I want to read this one too 🤬
Awesome. Love the interaction among the characters.
Another winner for Marie Force. I absolutely Love this series. I have read them all. This author keeps you guessing from the beginning with humor, drama and many other emotions. Nick, Sam and Scotty along with his and her crews keep you interested in the entire book/series. I have to force myself not to start reading her latest book, because I know I will finish it in one day and then hate it when I’m done reading. I get so involved in their lives, it’s impossible to put down. Thank you Marie for writing such a great story that keeps going. I wish I didn’t have to wait until November for the book. Just......THANK YOU!
