Publisher Description
Shabby and lumbering, with a face like a Norfolk dumpling, Father Brown makes for an improbable super-sleuth. But his innocence is the secret of his success: refusing the scientific method of detection, he adopts instead an approach of simple sympathy, interpreting each crime as a work of art, and each criminal as a man no worse than himself...

Father Brown - Detective
Chesterton’s Father Brown stories are engaging and delightful reads! There are a few clunkers yet they are far exceeded by the high quality of the rest of the mysteries. And while there is some moralizing, would one expect any less from a priest? And it is all delivered with a sly wit and level of concise descriptiveness where Chesterton creates a mood with a mere few sentences! Masterful stories.
Refreshing!
I wish I had gotten to know Father Brown earlier in my life.
