Fear and Loathing in Florence

Cecil Steel is a journalist writing a travel guide to Florence, but he is also in search of a good mystery. He finds one when a crooked restaurateur of his acquaintance turns up dead on the banks of the Arno. Cecil investigates to find that the murder reaches into Florence's endlessly complex history of art, commerce and violence. As he turns up clue after dangerous clue, Cecil is no longer a casual tourist witnessing the Renaissance at arm's length. He faces the lingering dangers of the past, point blank.
