Feather of Lead

Rachel Moon has had to look after her little brother like he was her own kid since their dad died and their mom delved into alcohol. She really didn't need any more - didn't think she could handle anymore - but life wasn't done with her. Rachel has been kidnapped and dragged away to a facility where the dreams she has been having are a lot more real. It houses many more like herself, children whose bodies and brains are changing in new ways. Breathing fire, flying, and changing shape are only the beginning for these kids who are depending on Rachel to set them free. Only when she discovers the link between her father's death and her current situation, however, does Rachel have the strength to face and fight their captors.
