Publisher Description
From Wall Street Journal Bestselling author Kristen Proby comes a small town, second chance romance! Fernhill Lane is the newest installment in the Huckleberry Bay series!
She didn’t think she’d ever come home again.
When Sarah Bitterman left Huckleberry Bay at the tender age of nineteen, newly married to a much older man, she had every intention of coming home to visit. Sadly, she quickly learned that was out of the question.
Until her husband throws her out with only the clothes on her back and finally sets Sarah free.
Coming back to the small seaside town has been the hardest thing she’s ever done. Facing those who loved her the most and think she turned her back on them is almost unbearable. But she needs her two best friends, and she’s longed to make amends with her little brother.
Huckleberry Bay is like the art in her soul. And now she can put down roots and begin to heal.
Tanner Hilleman knew it was a mistake to let the love of his life go all those years ago, and he’s never stopped thinking about her. Now that she’s home, while he’s giving her the space she needs, he’s also determined to make Sarah see that they belong together.
Unfortunately, Sarah’s past has followed her to Huckleberry Bay and threatens to destroy everything she loves. Will she and Tanner survive it? Or will it tear them apart for good?

Sweet and Steamy Second Chances
While it's no surprise that if Kristen Proby wrote it, I'm going to love it, I have to say that I'm really enjoying the world that Kristen has created in her Huckleberry Bay series. The characters are fun and likable, the plot lines are winners, and her descriptions are so right on that it's like I'm actually in Huckleberry Bay, along with the characters, experiencing the beautiful Oregon coast, and enjoying small town life amongst friends and family.
FERNHILL LANE is Sarah's and Tanner's story, and as far as second-chance love goes, it's a winner. These two were meant for each other. The years apart have changed them in good ways, bringing them to a place in life where they're really ready for each other, and their love of and support for each other gave me all of the butterflies.
Whether you've read and loved others of Kristen's books, or she's a new-to-you author, the books in this series are sure to win your heart. The sweet is nicely peppered with spicy, and the stories will draw you in and keep you reading. Next up in the series is CHAPEL BEND, where that slow burn and innuendo that's been building between a certain redhead and her friend's brother is about to get hot, hot, hot. Catch up on all of the books and get yourself ready to experience all of the awesome. ❤️
Sarah and tanner
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book 2 in the series about friends who live in a small coastal Oregon town. This story easily stands alone and stars Sarah and Tanner, who dated in high school. But when Tanner went off to college, he broke her heart, and she ended up married to a jerk who was much older than her. In the last book she came back to town divorced, penniless and homeless.
This story takes place about 18 months after the first book and Sarah is now living in the town with some old friends and working as a waitress. But she needs her own place, and she ends up living in her exes' gate house studio.
Tanner knew he messed up years ago, but he also knows that Sarah is his heart, and, in this story, he has to work to get her to trust him again with her heart.
I liked that Sarah really made him work for the heart he broke the years before. I also loved that she was such a strong woman and wanted to make it on her own.
Tanner was an awesome character and I loved that he might have been an idiot, but he also knows that he will do anything for Sarah. He was such an awesome guy and wanted Sarah to see how awesome he is and he gave her room to really grow while at the same time standing up for her.
Loved Tanner and Sarah
Fernhill Lane Is the second book in the Huckleberry Bay Series and it was an amazing read.
Nothing better than a second chance, slightly angsty, small town romance to keep the pages turning.
Tanner messed up once and let the woman he loves get away. Sarah makes it back in town after a failed relationship, and is not in a good place. Will Tanner be able to win her back? At every turn there are hurdles, and a major plot twist that will leave you wanting more. Loved to see how Tanner does all he can to rectify his previous mistakes and that they get their HEA. Amazing read! Highly recommend
