Fervent Patriotism Is It The Same Thing As Godliness

Not since the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor has the United States been swept up in such fervent patriotism! Flags are waving everywhere; “God Bless America” is the standard conclusion of every presidential speech; prayers are offered in Catholic and Protestant churches, in synagogues, mosques and temples. Memorial services and funerals are held in their thousands, as believers in hundreds of different religions recite prayers to their concept of God.
