I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a great addition to the series of Casella cousins. While this is the third book of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Truly though I would start at the beginning as the cousins appear throughout. Plus they are wonderful stories.
Finn owns an independent bookstore in New York City. He has a thing for older women but lately he finds himself thinking of his younger store manager, Millie Morrison, a great deal. Millie has been in love with Finn since starting at the bookstore. Knowing that Finn would never give her a second thought, she seeks therapy to get over him. She is ready to move on and starts to see the manager of a local soup kitchen, Emerson that she volunteers at. As Seth sees the two together, he starts to really think about Millie and not liking the younger man. It really doesn’t help when Emerson calls Finn, Mr. Casella! (I LOVED that scene!)
Complications arise for Finn and some of the store’s neighbors adding undo stress to him. A situation arises for the new couple that also complicates the relationship. This book is one that really shows how things can get out of hand quickly and how to possibly overcome them.
This book is written in a dual POV format. That was really necessary for me to get that glimpse into Finn’s thoughts. Also at one point Millie threw me for a loop as well. Seeing her thoughts also helped me to relate to her in that given situation.
This is a light sexy read. There is one “bedroom” scene and really there was hardly any detail at all given. I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18 as I would hate to offend any parent.
Intriguing book.
This third installment of the Casella cousins series is Finn’s story. We learn more about his relationship with his parents and his missing brother. This book has multiple story lines the keep the reader interested. Millie is the manager of the bookstore that Finn owns. Their relationship develops with a few bumps in the road. Will Millie get what she has always wanted? And can Finn overcome his business and personal challenges? Kathryn Shay definitely leaves you with the anticipation of the next Casella cousins book.
Finn
Book 3 is Finn’s story. He is struggling to define his relationship with Millie who has worked for him for 9 years. Millie has been fighting her attraction to Finn while continuing to do her job. Both have complicated family situations. Since this is the third book in the series much of the character background has already been established. I’m looking forward to the last 3 books in this series, especially curious about the mystery surrounding Ronan.
