Customer Reviews
Fast paced, gripping, and suspenseful
Loved this book. I found myself reading it with every free minute I had.
Flight From Berlin
David John has penned a page turner that stands up to the great noir writers of the Nazi genre. I've worked my way through Alan Furst and Philip Kerr, and was surprised to find this gem. A well crafted tale surrounding the 1936 Olympics and the Nazis' attempt to white wash their image for the world to see. Our protaganist, Denham, is a "get at the truth" journalist who swerves a little too close to intelligence gathing, and thus the close attention of the Nazis.
I'm not quite done with the book, but have decided to turn the pages slowly so as not to lose contact with our hero and his American girlfriend, Eleanor. I eagerly look forward to more work by David John, and I hope he puts something out soon!
