Publisher Description
Written by a pioneer in the field, this is a thorough guide to the cost- and time-saving advantages of Flow-Based Programming. It explains the theoretical underpinnings and application of this programming method in practical terms. Readers are shown how to apply this programming in a number of areas and how to avoid common pitfalls. This is a revision of the original book, describing a number of related approaches and uses of the technology that have developed since the book first came out, with new sections explaining how this technology applies to programming multicore computers and high data volumes.
Customer Reviews
Good content; poorly organized
The text is substantial, and covers many essential concepts. However, it is presented in the form of several very long essays, light on pauses to reinforce the concepts, with summarizations hidden in the endless sea of paragraphs. Acronyms are created then quickly overused and text formatting is either not used at all (bold/italics for emphasis) or is accidentally applied to entire pages for no apparent reason (different font/font size).
Overall, a text that could stand to improve a lot, and not the text that will makeFlow-Based Programming more accessible to the interested enthusiast - perhaps the text that enabled the text that does so, though.
easy read … very pragmatic
I wish I had thought of this sooner.
