‘What an engaging story! I laughed out loud… Couldn’t put it down! You need to read this.’ Goodreads reviewer, 5 stars
Twenty-nine-year-old Lily Buckley planned to be happily married and in her dream job by now. Instead she’s been single since being left at the altar three years ago, and works at her local paper, writing about giant vegetables at the village fete and a dog who looks exactly like Chewbacca.
Not quite what she was dreaming of.
So when Lily’s given the opportunity to write her own column it’s exactly what she’s always wanted – except what she has to write about. She has to do one thing every week that scares her.
With encouragement from sexy colleague – and adrenalin-junkie – Christopher, Lily agrees. From sky-diving to haunted houses, Lily is going to be pushed to her limit. And since heartbreak has left her afraid of falling in love again, her growing feelings for Christopher might just push her past it…
But then her mum has a crisis, her column is the only thing keeping her – and her colleagues’ – jobs afloat, and Christopher’s ex arrives with her sights set on a romantic reunion.
Suddenly jumping out of a plane is the least of Lily’s problems… Can she save her family, her friends, and her heart – or will Lily let her fears hold her back?
An uplifting, feel-good story about friendship, romance, and finding the hero inside yourself. Fans of Marian Keyes, Mhairi McFarlane and Sophie Kinsella will love Colleen Coleman!

I loved this.
I loved this book so much! People read self help books and that seems like work but all you need is a little girl power fiction to remind you that you can make bold choices and grow. And you can do it whether you are 29 or 89. Small changes or big changes, it doesn’t really matter as long as you are willing to try something new. And I absolutely love that the companionship of furry friends is also acknowledged and appreciated in this book. The joy one tiny kitten can bring. Thank you for a great book read in the sunshine with my dog, Bud.
The book was to be a fun and interesting story of Poppy Bloom achieving her goal in being selected to be part of a research department in a prestigious university in England. After going through all her trials and tribulations in trying to achieve this goal, even though she scored the highest ever in her doctoral testing / thesis, her 2 closest friends, George (whom she believed loved her and would most likely marry) and Hillary, her best friend, end up as co- winners who would get to be department heads. George, by the way tells Poppy in a email message that he did not love her and was to be with Hillary. Poppy is left out in the cold. Even her mentor and coach basically said that it was unfortunate, but that was life and too bad! Poppy is devastated, tries to find a job in her chosen career, has no success and that is the end of the book!!!
Colleen Coleman, the author, has no follow-up to Poppy’s dilemma. In other words, one spends time reading a good book ( although too wordy which one can skim through), and find there is no satisfying conclusion.
If this is what Ms. Coleman plans to do in her writing - lead the reader on and then left hanging, I for one will not read any other of her books as I do not wish to be severely disappointed again.
Such an awesome read
I loved this book. The characters are well developed.
