Forced Farewell is a lyrical and harrowing tale of exile, survival, and impossible love set during one of the darkest chapters of North American history—the Acadian Expulsion of 1755.

When British soldiers descend on the quiet Acadian village of Grand-Pré, sixteen-year-old Adelaid's life is torn apart in a single afternoon.
