This collection of poems contains translations from different Romanian writers such as Mihai Eminescu, George Coşbuc,Octavian Goga, Ion Minulescu, Tudor Arghezi, Al. O. Teodoreanu,Lucian Blaga and Nicolae Labiş. It is intended to give an overview of the vast and varied Romanian poetical tradition, including its many literary styles and diverse contributors. Also,Robert Frostʼs observation that: "poetry is what gets lost in translation," is a point well taken.
