An archaeology foundation has purchased a Gloucester gas station built in the 1930s and plans to restore the building and turn it into an archaeology laboratory and office, the Fairfield Foundation announced. The former Texaco, at the corner of Main Street and Va. 14, has been vacant for several years and is one of the oldest of its kind on the East Coast, according to the foundation.
