Charming story, well told
Lovely, simple story about neighbors, family, grief, growing up, and love.
Frank has lost his wife after a long, happy marriage. He is struggling with his loss and has pretty much retreated to his home and garden, where he drinks too much and has few contacts.
Red, 6 years old, and his mother, a nurse, have just moved in next door, following a marital break-up.
Red struggles with his new school, and manages to get himself in trouble, resulting in a week’s suspension.
Hmmm…what are neighbors for, if not to help each other out!
Frank and red
Very good book. Human interaction and human nature exposed in a very thoughtful poignant way.Very nice story in our current troubled world.
Touching and Entertaining
Highly recommend this book.
