Moved delicately towards cathartic sobbing
The best character development I’ve unraveled and re-ravelled in a long time. This was so well written. The author will gut you, but you can trust her to help carry you to the other side of grief. The sort of book I never wanted to end, but knew it was the right time to let Violette go.
I’m in love with a book
This book is simply beautiful. Spring and summer buried under winter…. Beautiful symbolism…Violette’s young life buried under obligation and grief. The lives of the vibrant souls buried beneath the earth in the cemetery. But with the first glimpse of spring, life begins anew not only for Violette’s garden but for Violette.
Wonderful book
I loved this book. At times I thought it was too long and other times I felt it needed to be exactly that long. It's not a book to read at one sitting, obviously, but a book to return to and savor. I would recommend this book.
