This Freshman Course by University of Science and Technology (UST) is a general remedial one that is meant to improve your overall proficiency in English. As you know, a reasonable proficiency in English is essential for communication with foreigners at home and abroad. Moreover, the course aims to help all first level  students, regardless  of their specializations, acquire English needed in their studies as well as in getting further information or skills relevant to their specializations. Thus, the course will bridge the gap between English required for daily communication and English required for academic studies.
