Folksy and fresh, endearing and affecting, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is a now-classic novel about two women: Evelyn, who’s in the sad slump of middle age, and gray-headed Mrs. Threadgoode, who’s telling her life story. Her tale includes two more women—the irrepressibly daredevilish tomboy Idgie and her friend Ruth—who back in the thirties ran a little place in Whistle Stop, Alabama, offering good coffee, southern barbecue, and all kinds of love and laughter—even an occasional murder. And as the past unfolds, the present will never be quite the same again.

Great Read
This books jumps around a little but it’s easy enough to follow. Of course I’ve seen the movie a hundred times and thought it was time to read the book. Well the book is better than the movie. There was so much more to the story than what the movie showed. A few things are different and a few are the same. But either way this is a great book. I recommend.
Fantastic read
A down to earth hysterical read
A Pleasure.
So we’ll written it’s hard to put down. If you never knew what real people and small town southern America was like from the 30’s to the 80’s, this is a must read. A treasure.
