Reporter Ava Sims is assigned to his story; she intends to advance her career, and her reporter's sense tells her there is something more to Luc than heroics. Luc and his loving family, especially his outspoken grandmother, offer a nice counterbalance to Ava's dysfunctional background, which leaves her unwilling to let anyone get close to her. Ava and Luc's sparks are immediate, and the evolution of their relationship which starts with little common ground except a dedication to singlehood is stimulating and realistic. They negotiate their professional and romantic interactions with banter that's clever but not self-satisfied, and their moment of truth feels warm and real. Fans of slightly gritty contemporaries will adore this.

For story value, Lauren Lane’s books deserve 5 stars. I have a hard time giving one, however, because of the bad language. I can’t stand it and especially taking the Lord’s name in vain. I do not consider myself a prude by any means, I just find it offensive and very unnecessary to Ms. Layne’s story telling!!! She has strong main characters and all the other characters in her story are memorable…….even the waitress who has served the Moretti family for years. There is humor, pathos, tears, just life in this story and all told in a very human everyday way. You can really get into the characters as human beings. They seem real people as Ms. Layne writes. If she could just understand, to make a good story, she only needs her talent. She doesn’t need the shock value of the bad language thrown in.
Fun, fast-paced and super sexy!
What can I say…? I am a huge fan of Lauren Layne. Haven’t met a book she’s written that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. She’s my go-to romance author.
FRISK ME is fun, fast-paced, and super sexy. Layne definitely turned up the heat for this new series. The chemistry between Luc & Ava is off the charts. I also love ho she continues to write strong, independent women who are capable of finding success in both their professional and personal lives. Cannot recommend it enough. Looking forward to the next in the series!
