Publisher Description

It wasn´t once upon a time. Exactly, it was the year 2060. After the third world war, the President of the European Union is elected World President, establishing a dictatorship. Among its first measures are:

1. The promulgation of the universal constitution.
2. The control of the food and medicines production system.
3. The elimination of intellectual property rights.
4. The intervention of financial markets.
5. The dissolution of the global institutions (the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank).

Although, a rebel group, called Liberation, with clandestine operations in several regions, starts a guerrilla war against the authoritarian government. However, due to his economic achievements and exceptional popularity, the President of the Earth is re-elected for a second (2072) and third period (2084).

Five years later, the world population exceeds 12 billion people. Nonetheless, arises a serious economic crisis, unprecedented in human history. Surprisingly, the production of food, medicines, raw materials and hydrocarbons, falls to critical levels.

This recession strengthened Liberation, propitiated the outbreak of the fourth world war and determined the end of the global empire.

In 2228, dissident scientists analyze the causes of the massive economic crisis and reach an agreement with Liberation leaders to travel through time and make modifications to history, avoiding: a) the establishment of a global dictatorial rule, b) the existence of the last two world wars, and c) the economic-financial collapse of the 21st century.

On the one hand, the Liberation directors aspire to change people's beliefs, but, on the other hand, the dissident scientists refuse to act this way, due to ethical reasons. However, they hope that liberties and human rights will never be subordinated to collective welfare...
