     Joe Ortega, Desert Storm veteran, husband, father, and man of God recounts his struggle with addiction, evil and destructive abuse of his family. He invites the reader to embark on a series of his life events, first examining his life prior to drinking. His candor in expressing his motives for drinking, and openness in relaying his family history creates an absorbing narrative any reader can connect with. 


     Throughout his journey of self-reflection, he admits himself into a rehabilitation center where he experiences a divine intervention, finds peace and moves on to embark on other ventures. Later, a relationship with God slowly develops as you realize where his turning point begins. Ortega later learns the power of God’s deliverance and his wife’s intercessory prayers, as Ortega becomes free from alcoholism and serves the Lord for over twenty years.
