Valuable preparation for holy days
Step-by-step, Pastor Tozer walks us through to a greater recognition and adoration of our Savior. First, this must be approached with seriousness, not the cheap glitz and commodification of our commercially-driven secular-branded “Christmas.” Next, he emphasizes the mercy undergirding and the glory overpowering our worship of Christ come: He took on human form, not to judge us (as He certainly could have done!) but to redeem us. He is Savior, not Judge, in the manger, and so we are blessed lifted up to far beyond what we deserve, clothed not in the filthy rags of our own making, but in the righteousness of the Redeemer. In abject wonder, let us recognize our blessed state this Christmas, to then carry that gratitude through the year in all we do, to serve and encourage all we meet.
