From The World Within Volume 2
Publisher Description
This book of ten illustrated stories was created by Norman Fahrer in 2021. It is the second volume in a series called From The World Within. The stories in this volume are accompanied by illustrations from Norman’s art collection, which he purchased over the years from Nilcelio Rocha. At the end of this book, you find information on how you can acquire such art yourself.
The stories touch on many human experiences and challenges in life such as the love between parent and child, the good and evil in each of us, the destructive power of our resentments, one’s purpose in life, our struggles with God, our yearning for paradise, the dark thoughts we deposit into books, and the importance of knowing what is enough for us.
A group of neighbors band together to spite and provoke God. A father struggles to love his son. A boy mistakes a dung beetle for Sisyphus. Books start a revolt. A giant mantis revels in her power over life and death. A paradise rises and falls. A woman succumbs to pent-up resentments. A boy falls into despair after he damages his father’s beloved radio. An orphaned Tamico rises from rags to riches but does not know what is enough for him, and a devil finds out that there are many accounts of a person’s life.
Most of these stories are about two thousand words long, and some are in the form of a fable. Others unfold in the rich world of fantasy. They were written by Norman Walter Fahrer.
