Amazing and Enlightening

Growing up in a small Northeast PA town, Hazleton, which is referenced in the book, I was struck by the insights provided on the economic devastation in these communities,and in particular the ability of companies like Amazon to easily secure favorable tax deals in places that in desperate need of those tax dollars. We too have a “fulfillment” center in an industrial park just outside the city, and Amazon along with many other such centers are reaping the rewards of 15 year tax abatement while offering low paying, hazardous work to the new population which has found the area as a haven from New York, and NJ. I highly recommend to anyone looking for insights on the state of our economy and the direction of our communities.
