Publisher Description

Into these six works Nash Buckingham has breathed the breath of life. Here young or older will recognize an unfolding saga of our gunning and angling relationships, amiably and fearlessly depicted. I make so bold as to predict that some day this and the other books Nash Buckingham has written will enjoy a literary rating as enduring, if not more so, as some now used as educational exhibits in short-story writing. Right you are, I’m, stringing along with these tales of high-principled and purposeful men, great dogs, and anecdotes packed with properly spaced chuckles and heartthrobs. But of course! Some day Nash is going to take me fishing and/or shooting. He’s just got to, folks. Didn’t the wise guy once say—“Hope has got eternal springs”?

Game Bag

T. Nash Buckingham was an outdoorsman and writer who lived, and wrote from his unique experiences throughout the turn of the century to well into his 80's! It was over forty years that I was read one of his earlier stories of De Shootingist Gent'man by my uncle and my father.

The reader can easily imagine the sights and sounds of those adventures afield reflected so graciously throughout Nash Buckingham's world as he knew it, and try to reflect the world and the outdoors of that time and period when flights blackened the skies, and see how Mr. Buckingham struggled with trying to get game laws changed.

Although his writing shows its reflection of his time period; and many readers will struggle with his word ussage, he came of age during the time of Mark Twain. Still one can easily see why Buckingham's outdoors articles and books was admired by Hemmingway, Falkner, and Capstick; his life was lived in the out of doors, and real life experiences relived through a creative writer- desiring to bring their audience into their world as they knew it. A delightful read. My friend, the legendary outdoorsman - Joe Guide recommends all seven of Mr. Nash's books to those who would apprecate looking back at creative outdoors articles and experiences unique to America.
