Hockey, love and puppies - what’s not to love?
I’m a big fan of hockey romances and I’ve really enjoyed Amy Aislin’s Vancouver Orcas Series, focused on the Shore cousins whose lives are also connected through their association with their local AHL team. While I really enjoyed the first two books, this is my favorite of the series. Dorian had seemed a bit grumpy as a supporting character in the other books, so it was nice to see him warm up. (The dog, Poppy, helped his transformation.) Jamie is very likable from page one, and I was happy to see that they didn’t wait until the end to get together, or endure a third-act break-up. If you like sweet guys who fall for each other (and small dogs), low angst and happy endings—oh, and hockey—you’ll enjoy Game On.

Completely & positively the best. This is the ending of a series should be unless?
Well, I can hope there is more books with these favorite loves.

GAME ON is the third in Amy Aislin’s terrific Vancouver Orcas series, focusing on the AHL team in that lovely city.
This book is about Dorian Shore, who is currently working as the social media coordinator for the organization. Readers also learn that he’s been carefully planning a new business for years, but is wary of telling people because he’s been burned in the past by his less than supportive family. His new temporary roommate is Jamie Jamieson, a player looking for a fresh start after a terrible experience being treated shabbily by his former team.
Amy Aislin writes Jamie and Dorian warmly and compassionately. I loved seeing them come to trust each other and realize they have found someone they can trust and entrust their inner selves with. I also loved seeing the Orcas community and their families and friends really show up for them. While this story stands alone, I loved the sense of community and continuity of seeing the characters from the other books in the series in this story, and am sorry this is the last book in this excellent series.
