The dons of Harriet Vane's alma mater, the all-female Shrewsbury College, Oxford, have invited her back to attend the annual Gaudy celebrations. Not Exactly My Cup of Tea
There were multiple times throughout the course of this book where I had to repeat to myself “you will not DNF. You will not DNF.” Conceptually, I like the idea of the book, but I often felt that it took o long to make any forward progress. That said, Sayers’ dedication to rich description, period-appropriate prose, and weaving plot points together at the end deserves to be recognized. I spent a while getting to know the halls of Oxford with Miss Vane, but this book wasn’t really my cup of tea.
