Absolutely brilliant!
Good commentaries are hard to find these days. Mostly, that's because a commentator gets so caught up pushing his or her agenda that they miss the broader point the Scripture wishes to make or, conversely, focus too much on the bigger picture at the expense of the details, details that have deep meaning! Expositor's is the true, beautiful exception! This commentary understands the Scripture, but also understands its own place and the reason FOR Scripture - namely, the promotion of the glory of the Triune God and the sort of redemption culminating in Jesus Christ. Never shy about the tough issues or arrogant about opposing arguments, this commentary reveals the Word and by example, not just in word, promotes worship and affection of God on the part of the reader.
I absolutely recommend it. Without reservations.
