George Washington

George Washington is a comprehensive biography of the first President of the United States written by the 28th U.S. President, Woodrow Wilson, 15 years before he took office in 1913. Detailing a side of Washington many had not known, his childhood, this biography showed the American people a side of Wilson they had not yet known, the academic. Some historians note that while Wilson's biography of Washington was not hugely successful at any point during his political career, the extensive research and elevated prose made him known to be a smarter President than perhaps he would have been viewed without the biography.
