This is the kind of absolutely wicked thriller you want to devour in one electrifying sitting. With their lavish lifestyle and immaculate New York brownstone, Ted and Jill seem like a thriving, uber-rich power couple. In reality, Jill’s a trophy wife from the wrong side of the tracks, while Ted is a mediocre trust fund baby who’s burned through his entire inheritance. Desperate to keep living the high life, the pair start eyeing Ted’s successful brother—and counting the millions they’d inherit if something were to...happen to him. From the moment Ted and Jill commit their supposedly perfect crime, author Shari Lapena throws one brilliantly plotted twist after another at them. The pace is relentless as each new character adds to the paranoia, from a surprisingly dogged police investigator to whoever’s threatening the couple with chilling, anonymous text messages. Highly Entertaining
This is a fast paced morality tale that examines superficial, dislikable characters who can only truly love money. The other characters are stereotypes but keep the plot moving. The main characters are so dim witted it’s easy to despise them for that alone. The most interesting parts are the internal machinations of Jill - although neither her nor her brain dead husband have a shred of decency. The most lovable “character” is their magnificent brownstone.

Nothing great. Disappointed in the ending. The pace was pretty slow and I was not rooting for the couple.
