Now we know…

I often wonder what happens to the characters I read in a book. It’s why I like to read authors books in the order they write them. That way I feel like I’m in on something when an author throws in little Easter gags that the reader would only know if they read a previous book by that author. It’s also why I love to read series. It just feels so comfortable to know the MCs in the previous book are doing really well as you pretty much knew they would. The more prolific the author, the better the chance.
In this novelette, which begins at Joey & Elaines wedding from Lovelife we’re treated to two of the secondary characters from their love story. How they finally meet, and what transpires is extremely well thought out. For such a shorter novel the depth in both characters is one layer after another peeled back and the annoying audacity(in the first book) of Joeys BFF, Lisa gets turned inside out by life coach, Elaine’s own life coach, Marty. It’s funny and charming and really makes you want them to take a chance because you just know they’ll be good for each other. It’s not a long read, but it’s a good one. 5 stars just for making me love Buffalo which I’ve only ever passed through on my way to Canada before!
