Grief counselor Delia Hughes loves volunteering at the PAWS pet rescue, but Ryan Pearson annoys her. While she's busy pursuing her doctorate, he's content to tinker with equipment and apparently has no ambition in life. She seems to care more about his future than he does and they clash whenever they meet.

As they work together to help a community rebuild in time for Christmas Eve services, they also have to deal with the growing attraction between them. Will the spirit of the holiday turn these two enemies into sweethearts?
