Baker and Biker are deliciously delightful

With her newest novel, Gimme Some Sugar, Juliette Poe brings full circle the romantic lives of the Whynot, NC, born-and-bred Mancinkus clan.
With a meet-cute previously teased in past installments of the Sex and Sweet Tea series, Gimme Some Sugar couples the baker, Larkin Mancinkus, and biker, Deacon Locke. Enamored by Larkin, Deacon, a nomadic wanderer with no roots to tie him down, decides to spend time in small-town North Carolina getting to know the sassy, southern sweetheart. The more he encounters Larkin, the more he likes her and the deeper the pull to put down roots becomes. But Larkin sneaks past all of Deacon’s barriers and defenses, and this urge to settle down goes against Deacon’s nature.
Told in alternating perspectives, the reader is again immersed in the Whynot Gossip Mill and all the happenings that serve as its fodder. Readers of the series will enjoy going on this journey to happily ever after with Larkin and Deacon, all while checking in on the other siblings and townspeople. But, Gimme Some Sugar can most certainly be read as a stand-alone.
Much like the other stories in this series, Poe pens a chaste and cheerful romantic tryst through an entertaining and enchanting small town dripping with southern charm. Though I would have liked a bit more of the town antics be included or even some chapters told from Pap’s point-of-view, Poe again delivers another delicious and refreshing romance that readers will be delighted with.
Oh So Charming & Entertaining!
Loved going back to Why Not North Carolina again. Getting to see what all the great colorful characters in this small town are up to, and where the gossip mill is faster than lightning and Larkin Mancinkus, is finally hearing her own name on everyone’s lips.
This is so full of LOL. moments, simmering attraction and heart melting goodness as a motorcycle bad boy wanderer, Deacon Locke is lead to meeting his match in a firmly embedded home town girl, Larkin Mancinkus. Through, dinner dates, motorcycle rides, handcuffed to his bed and meeting the family the LOL moments as well as the sweet charming and sexy times seem to just keep getting better. And these two grab onto each other to make every moment count. They fall into forever together and mend the insecurities in the other.
Juliette Poe swept me away with her vivid imagination and love of family. Bringing such joy and love of life to this series.
