Publisher Description
Keep walking. This may be the day your Jericho walls come down.
We all face them. Strongholds with a strong hold on our lives. Roadblocks to our joy. Obstacles in our marriages. Fortresses of fear blocking us from peace. How can we bring down these walls that keep us from the future God promises?
Remember the story of Joshua and the battle of Jericho? Those were some formidable foes and big barriers.
Max Lucado says the book of Joshua is in the bible to remind us of one thing: God Fights For Us! We can overcome, because He has already overcome.
We were not made to stand in the shadow of our walls and quake. We were made to stand on top of Jericho's rubble and conquer. We win, because God's already won.
Need a new battle plan for life? Keep walking, keep believing. These may be your Glory Days.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
With an inspirational voice, bestselling author and pastor Lucado (God Will Use This for Good) offers insights from the Old Testament book of Joshua on how to embrace what he calls "Promised Land Living." Drawing on the experiences of Joshua and the Israelites as they left behind 40 years of wandering and prepared to enter the promised land of Canaan, Lucado urges readers to believe "the best days are ahead of us." Within this framework, Lucado draws a connection between the experiences of early Israelites during enslavement under the Egyptian pharaoh and subsequent years wandering the wilderness and the fear that he says many Christians still live under. He works through the book story by story, including narratives from his own life and the lives of others to illustrate his overarching point, and sprinkling in details about the historical and cultural background of events such as the Israelites' march on Jericho. At times, Lucado's colloquial tone flirts dangerously close with hokey; his dog even provides a spiritual lesson. However, personified pet stories aside, Lucado continues to strike a winning balance between spiritual insights and pastoral inspiration.

Claiming my promises
2016 is my year to claim the promises of God (Deuteronomy 28) in my life. Thank you for Glory Days! It is a must read or hear for all believers who want to walk in the abundance that Jesus came to give us. Max Lucado does a great job using the life of Joshua and how he believed God and led the Israelites I to the promise land. I enjoy listening to my audio book over and over again. Blessings!
