Go Fly

Go Fly is a poem I wrote to understand something about caring for someone who, through that care, learns to succeed and go it alone, leaving you behind. 


   This poem is 3 stanzas of 10 lines each. the 4th and 8th and 10th line have 10 syllables, the rest have 11; each pair of lines rhyme. There are ‘made up words’ like ‘thang’ and ‘thunk’ and cluckeded (pronounced like ‘Cluck Did’) and learneded (pronounced like ‘Learn Did’), so it isn’t by accident!  


   The structure of this poem provides for 3 chapters. Each stanza has had its lines split-apart in order to preserve the intent (the pacing) of each line, and thus each line may be given its own page; there may be instances, however, where managing the evolution of the poem in your mind, some lines have been split into multiple pages, or, multiple lines of a stanza remain on the same page (making it so a page is not necessarily equal to the count of lines of a stanza).
