Publisher Description
The New York Times bestselling, irreverently funny reinterpretation of the Ten Commandments by Penn?Jillette—atheist, skeptic, and the larger, louder half of the magic duo Penn?& Teller.
In God, No!, Penn blends secular comedy, satire of the Ten Commandments, and personal memoir with sharp-witted flair.
From performing on the Las Vegas strip, mingling with Siegfried?&?Roy, to fatherhood and ongoing debates with proselytizers of the Christian Right, Penn shares his atheist memoir with outrageous humor. Packed with tales of sex while scuba-diving, magic on stage, and fearless skepticism, God, No! offers a uniquely entertaining, life-affirming freethinker memoir that redefines belief, morality, and laughter.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This hilarious and often jaw-dropping audio version of magician Penn Jillette's reimagining of the 10 Commandments is a delightful romp from start to finish. As a narrator, Jillette offers an inspired reading as he outlines his political and social viewpoints in a deep and raspy voice. From his personal feelings about Richard Nixon to his thoughts about organized religion, Jillette leaves no stone unturned and he doesn't feel an ounce of shame about any of his opinions either. Unlike his silent on-stage partner, Jillette is never short on words. Listening to this larger-than-life performer rant is entertaining and pretty darn compulsive, too. Jillette proves to be as strong a writer and narrator as he is magician. A Simon & Schuster hardcover.

Excellent Read
Thanks for your honesty, awareness of your human flaws but most importantly giving your thoughts words...and in doing so adding to the vocabulary of those who believe or more directly (don't believe), like you do....Read this book for a humanist perspective of someone living a reflective and thought provoking life...Thanks Penn...the bacon tastes so good!!!
Love it!
Great read for anyone who is an atheist or has ever questioned their faith!
And now I'm Japanese, so &@!$ off!
When a friend at work told me Penn came out with a book about Atheism (about time!), I knew immediately I had to read it.
Hilarious, insightful and heart-felt, it feels like it gives a voyeuristic glimpse into Penns life as he shares intimate short stories of his life and views as an atheist. Although I am bias towards this book, being an atheist and libertarian (and a huge P&T fan ever since my brother got me into them at an early age) I feel it would be a huge disservice to say you have to fall into those categories to appreciate this book.
If you enjoy comedy, true stories, great pieces of advice, and awesome quotes you'll be spewing for some time, check out this book! I really enjoyed the writing style i.e. tons of swearing, but everything written just seems so open and honest, from the man whose job it is to "lie and trick you." His candidness makes it feel like you're hanging out with Penn and just listening to him talk, it's just that good.
These stories at times will have you hurting in laughter, or getting teary eyed, but from the moment you start reading you won't want to put it down until you finish.
Thank god I am an atheist.
