Why?
Why is it when you read a book with a female lead in these food mysteries - Laura Childs, Joanne Fluke, and coffeehouse mysteries, plus others, the female lead has to end up involved with the police officer? Why is it? Couldn't Mel have explored her insecurities and still stayed with Joe? Can't young love turn into long term love? I guess I need to talk with my aunt and uncle who are going on 80 years together ( starting when they were 5) or my friends who meet at 13 and have been together for almost 40 years. Fear of commitment a real, but why can't they work together? Why the easy way out? Loved the first 4 books, but not this one.
