In the early 1990’s a young college graduate decided to abandon his home and family to travel across the United States without money or property. He left footprints all over the country roads from south to north and in the hearts of the many people he met along the way. 

This man was Christopher McCandless. 

The question is; why would a student with top grades from a wealthy family and a foot into Harvard law, up and leave everything and go into the wild?


This book is designed to be used in English and Social Studies classes and includes many tasks using apps so as to create an interactive experience. It can be used from age 12 through adult education classes and in interdisciplinary classes.
