Inspiring and Uplifting
Very interesting book, it had me in tears and laughter. Not same but relatable experiences as an African (Nigerian)woman myself living in the States. Great book! Highly recommended. Well done Ruth.
Compelling Story
I loved this memoir. It was interesting and engaging from start to finish, especially since I have been following the author’s YouTube channel for a good while. It was fun to learn more about her Ghanaian culture and background, and also to have some of the gaps filled in regarding her family’s journey. Faith is a theme weaved throughout her story and that strongly resonated with me.

This book is so real and so captivating. It is the story of a poor African girl’s life. Her sufferings and triumph. She’s indeed a conqueror. She came to America, she saw and she conquered. You will so appreciate it if you are from Africa but if you’ve never been to Africa, you will find it so intriguing. It is well written and it’s a must read. I love love love it.
