Examining a still-active sports figure is difficult; Thompson mostly manages it by detailing Curry's relentless drive. Curry went from getting zero scholarship offers from major colleges to being an NBA lottery pick. After two NBA MVP awards, Curry still endures punishing off-season workouts and keeps giving his trainer more to work on. Unfortunately, Thompson never finds the balance between tone and content, stumbling into game recaps and observations on his subject that can be overwrought (" are tools for revenge, to announce his superiority"), simplistic ("He makes the kind of shots people daydream about"), or dossier-dull statistical. He fails to unite the disparate themes to profile a new kind of athletic superstar, a devout, humble family man who turned craftiness and outside shooting into sexy, marketable qualities.

Amazing read. Whether or not you're a basketball fan, this book will make you appreciate the perseverance of Steph Curry. Thompson does an excellent job of conveying the hardships Curry has overcome and showing how Steph's unwavering courage has allowed him to rise amongst the elite in the NBA.

Marcus Thompson takes a very popular player and known figure of inspiration and gives a microscopic view into the spirit and fight that is Steph Curry. I feel more connected and inspired by his journey after reading this book. I kept turning the pages hoping it wasn't the last and trying to gain some perspective on my own fight in life because he did.
Loved the book it's a must read, because the writer clearly knows a side we all wish we knew. Curry is a phenomenon that should be celebrated because his story is phenomenal!
