Great new lead character
Love the new main character. Randy was ready to go a different direction and I'm sure the 2 series will intersect sometimes. Randy does a great job making us fall in love with Hannah. She's humble, tough, loyal, and enjoys the life she has on the water. Looking forward to more.

I'm going to give the benefit of doubt
First off let me say that I live by Sanibel and loved hearing about places so close to home. I was referred to read this author by someone who had read his other series. I'm an avid reader who has read to many books to count. That being said...
I was a bit mortified at the lead character in this series. I do enjoy strong female leads and was looking forward to reading about another one. I was disappointed. I feel like a male writer who isn't really familiar with females and how they think wrote this. Let me start by saying if you grew up around charter boat captains as a female you learned how to hold your own ground and give 'em back as hard as you get 'em. Docile doesn't really work in the marinas or as a charter Captain. As a charter boat captain half or even more than half of your job is entertaining your clients. Jokes, socializing, stories.
Also those of us females that had acne or were late bloomers more than not, were adapt at compensating by being Jokers or sweet, or even jerks lol. So a charter boat Captain who is an entertainer and jokes and socialozes is a perfect character.. but that character is not in this book. I actually had a hard time finishing this book only because it irritated me. But I did. I'm hoping that the next book I read by this author will show growth in his female lead. I enjoyed the writing and story line. I'll try another book in this series, but if his lead female is so off in that one too, I'll just stick to his books about the male lead character.
Oh... One more little thing.. we don't burn bees in this area of the world. Hornets, yellow jackets, wasps.. heck yeah. Not bees though. Bees make the sweetest honey down here since they get their pollen from the orange groves that are littered around our area.
Good writing, good story line.. poorly written Heroine. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and try one more book in this series.
