Goodbye, Planet Earth

Some scientists tell us that we have come a long way in the evolutionary spiral and that man is soon to penetrate the magic barrier that now lies between us and a utopia of health and happiness. Others say that we have struck the nadir of human experience and that civilization itself is doomed. One country philosopher espoused the latter view; but he said, “When things git about as bad as they can git, it’s a sure sign that somethin’ better is comin’ your way.”

Those who view the future with hope need to have that hope strengthened. The despairing need to find some ray of light. Don’t lay this book down until you have found that hope.
