Good lord, this book ripped me apart page one, had me digging out the Kleenex, and then pieced me all back together again, leaving me with all the feels. The characters are well developed and their stories just pulled at your heartstrings. You come to feel that no one deserves their HEA more than these two. So much story for 89 pages - totally didn't feel like a novella. I can't wait to get more of them in the next book!
On a personal note, as a veteran, I frequently have a difficult time reading military romances or books with combat scenes because they're not realistic. Kristine Allen has never disappointed me in this department and it's clear she does her homework and it's the reason she's one of my favorite authors (on top of writing wicked awesome stories). It's truly appreciated.
