Walt Griggs has spent most of his life behind the wheel of a yellow school bus—and behind a wall of bitterness.

A widower estranged from his only daughter, Walt has given up on people, on joy, and especially on God. His days are filled with grumbling at traffic, snapping at kids, and counting the hours until he can clock out.

But everything begins to change when a new passenger boards Bus 23—Abby, a ten-year-old girl with a worn Bible, a quiet smile, and a stubborn belief that even grouchy bus drivers need prayer. Alongside her is Liam, a first grader with boundless energy, innocent wisdom, and a knack for slipping truth into crayon-colored notes.
