Grape Expectations

Great short story

When Dolly Madison arrives on Martha’s Vineyard, she is suspicious of everyone’s true motives. Dolly recently inherited a large sum of money and apparently “friends and relatives” have come from all directions for a handout. Dolly arrived with plans to learn about making wine only to find out Matha’s Vineyard does not actually have vineyards. Can the magic of Blythe Cove Manor help heal Dolly trust in others and find out where she truly belongs?

I really enjoyed this short story. Dolly was not really a likable person at the very beginning of the story but as the story progressed you find out why she is so mistrusting and guarded. I really love how once Dolly started helping out with the Taste of Farm Celebration she started to let her guard down and enjoy herself. By the end of the story, my feelings about Dolly had completely changed just as Dolly’s attitude about others as well as where she wanted to be and what she wanted to do with her life.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a short story with a positive message about changing one's outlook on life. I received a copy of this short story in hopes I would give a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way been influenced.
