It's a hardknock afterlife…
Lana Harvey is a reaper, and a lousy one at that. She resides in Limbo City, the modern capital of the collective afterlives, where she likes to stick it to the man (the legendary Grim Reaper himself) by harvesting the bare minimum of souls required of her. She'd much rather be hanging out with Gabriel, her favorite archangel, at Purgatory Lounge. But when a shocking promotion falls in Lana's lap, she learns something that could unravel the very fabric of Eternity. If the job isn't completed, there could be some real hell to pay.
New to Lana and Limbo City?
If you love urban fantasy steeped in mythology, dark humor, gritty action, and paranormal romance, then buckle up, buttercup! You're in for one hell of a ride...
This series is complete at 7 books (plus a short story collection and illustrated guide) but you can catch up with Lana and the gang in LIFE AFTER DEATH, book one of the RETURN TO LIMBO CITY spin-off series!
Roquet breathes new life into death with the debut of her Reapers, Inc. urban fantasy series. Lana Harvey is an eighth-generation reaper, content with harvesting low-risk souls on a freelance basis. She gets her docket in the morning, heads over to the mortal realm to pick her passengers up, and then takes them back to her ship in Limbo City. Every afternoon, she and her sailing partner drop their souls off in the respective afterlives. At night, she enjoys poker games with her friends, including the angel Gabriel, and spends countless hours warming a stool at the demon-run Purgatory Lounge. Lana's quite content with her life until she's chosen by Grim, the CEO of Reapers, Inc., to help quell an insurrection threatening to destroy the fabric of Eternity. The blending of cultures and traditions is handled respectfully, with more than a touch of humor mixed in with hints of romance and mystery. The setting is rich and varied with a little something for fans of several different genres. (BookLife)
Quirky entertaining and fast pace
Terrific book. Well written, fun to read and the author is well versed in myth and religion language is descriptive enough for imagination to picture characters poses and actions. A very Enjoyable read. I am looking forward to next book by author.
Despite the book’s light-hearted touch, the author clearly knows her comparative religions. Fast paced action and crisp dialogue frame a suspenseful plot. The story comes to a satisfying denouement while leaving enough mystery to sustain anticipation for subsequent episodes. I am eager to read them.
