Gray Skies is a prequel to, Be Light Be Love. The authors first book about bringing awareness to our broken spirits. In this collection of her poetry, she helps you better understand how she got to where she is today. She has chronologically placed them in order of the time written, dating from 2008 to present. She shares a side of her no one has yet seen. From the time she lost her husband to brain cancer, pain from dealing with a life changing diagnosis, and sorrow from being consumed by darkness when giving love another try. It’s a journey that many can relate to. It’s full of love, loss, confusion, abuse, and figuring out what it’s all for in this emotional work of art. McKenzi shares this vulnerability that is innocent, pure, and raw. Honest. Her hope is to let people know they’re not alone in this crazy world.
