Publisher Description
After her father committed suicide rather than face his mounting gambling debts, Oksana Wallingford knows she will have to work in order to keep food on the table and her younger brother, the new baron, in school. When her best friend finders her a position as the nanny of his brother's children, it is the opportunity Oksana needs. But what she didn't contend with was Rafe, the recently widowed Duke of Essex and her new employer.
Oksana and Rafe's personalities are like oil and water. However, what begins as mutual hate slowly begins to change into something more. But what future can they have when Rafe has sworn off marriage for good?
As the mismatched pair struggles to come to terms with one another, a disaster that throws everything into question strikes them both.

Teaching Scripture Through Delightful Historical Fiction?
This is a delightfully romantic, and sometimes erotic, historical-fiction thriller. I re-read it for a third time after reading and pondering the scripture readings for the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Times, 8 September 2024. This story, about a young woman of righteous character who shows loving respect to others she encounters, has several lessons from these scripture readings, such as: The LORD gives sight to the blind;
the LORD raises up those who were bowed down.
The LORD loves the just;
the LORD protects strangers.
The fatherless and the widow the LORD sustains,
but the way of the wicked he thwarts. Ps 146:8-9.
Oh, how often do we think less of a person because of his/her physical appearance, and fail to see the true beauty of that person’s character; their spirit. What other scripture passages come into your thoughts as you read this delightful story?

Great story & wonderful characters--loved the humor Ms Cerny brought to the story. This was most effective when OJ attends the costume ball. However, the layout needs editing. There is text missing at the ends of some chapters, and at one point the font size changes drastically. There are also a couple of places where the incorrect word has been used. Otherwise, I love this author's work.
