Green-Wood Cemetery Green-Wood Cemetery

Green-Wood Cemetery

Publisher Description

Green-Wood Cemetery was founded in 1838 and is one of the United States’ grandest and most famous landscaped cemeteries. It was granted National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the interior in 2006.

It has been compared to Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris and Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the park-like setting was first established.

The final resting place of politicians, artists, actors, authors, poets and composers, and of course mobsters, this is Brooklyn after all.
