If you have never read a sci-fi story. Greyson's Doom is the perfect book to start.
From the moment I started to read this book I was hooked. I am not usually a sci-fi fan but this book just kept me coming back for more.
You will find that the answers are there but you didn't see 'em coming!!
Absolutely recommend this book! Seeing the characters grow and mature and getting a glimpse onto their relationship made me feel like I was there, part of the story.
I couldn't put it down once I started and stayed up far too late so I could see what happened!

Great 1st book in a new series
Greyson's Doom is the first book in a new series and beautifully sets the scene of a futuristic life on board the Endurance, a ship traveling through space on a 1,000 year voyage to a new habitable planet as Earth is no longer hospitable.
Although this is a science fiction story, I found I didn't have to suspend reality to get absorbed in this book. I kept coming up with conspiracy theories trying to guess the outcome of the main problem in the book. Without giving anything away, I thought that the artificial intelligence created the 'issue' in order to fulfill its own statistical prophecy. I was wrong. Though I thought the ending was a tad anticlimactic, it was a wonderfully written introduction to a futuristic reality and I can't wait to delve in to the next book.
Endurance
Endurance, the AI-controlled generation ship carrying humanity to its future, controls births, future role assignments and occupations for everyone's century-plus lifespans. So when twenty-two year old Greyson, only three months into the command of Endurance, is assigned to mentor his replacement, it is a death sentence. It means the AI predicts his demise within a decade. Emmaline, his brilliant, recalcitrant mentee, is all of fourteen. How does one live with an expiration date? With a future highjacked barely out of childhood? The mythical Sword of Damocles hangs over Endurance, and when it falls, will the ommniscient AI's preparations save them? Or are humans, with their irrationally random thoughts and emotion-driven behaviors, the best architects of their own survival? The slow build to a gripping finish makes this a compelling read. The underlying conflicts of logic, security, creative thought, and the motivating power of love make it thought provoking and memorable. This is a most unforgettable book, well worth reading and re-reading. (This review comes after my third time reading it since it's publlication, and yes, I will read it again.)
